Rob Kauffman joined MWR as an ownership partner in October 2007. Since the New York native’s addition, his financial and business strategy has guided the team’s growth and ability to field multiple NASCAR Sprint Cup teams.
In 2014, Kauffman was elected chairman of the Race Team Alliance (RTA) a new collaborative business association formed among Sprint Cup teams. The purpose of the organization is to create an open forum for the teams to explore areas of common interest and to work collaboratively on initiatives to help preserve, promote, and grow the sport of stock car racing.
Kauffman has always had a significant interest in all things automotive and racing related. He founded RK Motors, a collector car restoration and performance company, based in Charlotte, N.C. (http://rkmotorscharlotte.com/). He’s also comfortable behind the wheel of a race car. Kauffman has raced modern and vintage sports cars in races around the globe including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011 and 2012 and the Rolex 24 in Daytona in 2012 and 2013.

Kauffman has made MWR’s participation in international racing events a part of a worldwide business strategy to promote the team on a global stage. Since his arrival, MWR’s international effort has included multiple visits to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, Toyota Motorsports Festival in Japan as well as races and tests in Dubai, Belgium, Italy and Portugal.
