NASCAR Sprint Cup Series History During its first three seasons and 108 races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), Toyota has visited victory lane 21 times, recorded 17 pole positions and registered 88 top-five finishes. Kyle Busch earned Toyota's first-ever NSCS win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March of 2008. In addition, Toyota has been represented in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship playoff in each of the last two seasons — with Busch, Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart in 2008, and Hamlin and Brian Vickers in 2009.

In 2009, Camry drivers won 11 races and registered 10 pole positions, along with a pair of drivers finishing the year among the top-12 in the final championship point standings. Busch and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Hamlin, led the way with four victories apiece. Vickers gave the Red Bull Racing Team its inaugural NASCAR victory, while David Reutimann and Joey Logano each earned their first career Cup Series wins. Vickers recorded six poles in 2009, while Reutimann picked up two during the year. Busch and Hamlin each earned one pole during the season.
